LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday grilled former Prime Minister Raja Pevez Ashraf and former federal minister Syed Naveed Qamar over the multi-billion-rupee Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) corruption case, The Express Tribune has learnt.

The former PM Raja Pervez Ahsraf in capacity of former Minister Water and Power and Syed Naveed Qamar in capacity of former minister for Petroleum and Natural Recourse were summoned by the accountability bureau in connection with the illegal appointment of Tauqir Sadiq as OGRA Chairman, gaining pecuniary benefits as consequence of issuance of Unaccounted For Gas (UFG) notification, issuance of about 200 CNG licences, recitation and reallocation of CNG stations in bulk quantity.

The NAB had issued notices to the former Premiers Raja Pervez Ashraf, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Federal Minister respectively under sections 19 and 27 of National Accountability Ordinance (NAO), 1999.

On Monday both Ashraf and Qamar appeared before the NAB but Gilani did not despite having been issued three notices.
